Painter & Illustrator Martin Bradshaw.
St Leonards based artist Martin Bradshaw finds inspiration in architectural subjects. Working in watercolours and acrylics on canvas he explores a particular fascination with the resonant effects created by light and space in an architectural context ; the bold, vivid use of colour complementing and liberating the restricting lines of a structure, producing a strong sense of drama and atmosphere. After studying at Trinity College of Music, London he began his working life as a professional cellist ; joining the BBC Concert Orchestra in 1980. During this period he developed an interest in painting, particularly with watercolour. He left the BBC in 1991 to study at Camden School of Art and subsequently Chelsea College of Art and Design. Since then he has divided his time painting and working as a freelance cellist. Martin is also happy to take commissions for paintings and illustrations.
