A Bit About me ...
I've been a graphic designer for over a decade, and founded Art & Soul in 2017. It was a crash course in balancing the books at high speed, painting for an audience and DIY - all on a shoe string budget. Despite an amazing first year, I closed the Gallery with a wealth of experience under my belt and a lot of tough lessons learned. Lesson One - Always get a survey! Moving online has been a breeze compared to running a bricks and mortar business, human connections are still the most important thing, but I'm not tied to one location, so I can spend much more time doing what I love.
The Rye connection lives on, with a few lovely locations to hang some lovely pieces, but I am back in Croydon now with fresh eyes. It's easy to overlook the beauty in your own back yard, and being away made me realise just how lucky we are to have such amazing variety in food, faces and culture. Croydon is actually pretty special in my opinion, and bursting at the seams with talent of every kind. Just walk the streets, there's art absolutely everywhere, amazing food, and our music is so hot right now!
I'm still figuring out how to be an artist, wondering how to make something worthwhile, and working the day jobs to pay for paint, of course. So here I am on a whole new adventure to rediscover home & simplify my life. I paint slowly, live gently and spend wisely. I'd love you to tag along for the ride.
