A Rye Good Time With Arabella Ansar
Arabella is an absolute dynamo who champions the arts in the beautiful historic town on Rye, East Sussex. Her blog sprang from pure passion. As she shared news of the events and ideas she loves, she garnered a fantastic following in her local community - so much so, that they once campained to make her the Town Cryer! She is an effervescent and charismatic person with a history in education and the arts, and wanted most importantly that her brand should reflect the treasured heritage of the town.
The town has a long history, a bustling port since Roman times, and home to some perfectly preserved architecture. Parts of the famous Mermaid Inn date back to 1156 and many of the town's beautiful timbered buildings are protected by law. Even paint must be specially approved, and so I chose colour palettes that tip their hat to historically accurate renderings of times past. This formed the basis of the brand identity, with colours representing varying facets of the creative community in subtle ancient hues.
One of Arabella's Collaborations saw her teaming up with Rye Jazz Festival, promoting the event with acclaimed international musicians using facebook live videos, live tweeting and some nice collaborative merchandise. With people sharing photo's of their tote bags in destination all over the globe, despite terrible weather it was one of the best attended events so far.
